Join a 30+ year, award-winning commercial general contractor that specializes in a wide range of construction projects, including high-end office build-outs, retail, healthcare renovations, and secure space construction for government and defense clients. They complete over 100 fast-track projects annually, with more than 70% of their work coming from repeat clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager seeking professional growth into a Project Manager role in the next 1-2 years. Open to professionals from a subcontractor or general contractor background with 2-3 years of construction industry experience.

Your new role

• Position will report into an experienced Project Manager who will provide excellent mentorship with the aim of developing your skill set into a well-rounded Project Manager and be able to run your own work as time permits.
• Management in all aspects of construction projects from planning to completion.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
• Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers and communicate with clients.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager with 2-3 years of commercial construction experience, ideally in interior construction.
• Live local to the DC/MD area, with the ability to go into the office in Howard County 3 days a week. Out of state candidates will not be considered for this position.
• Ability to travel 1–2 times a month, ad-hoc, not set schedule.
• Degree in a Construction related discipline however is preferred, not required.
• US Citizen - requirement for the clients they represent, no visa transfer or sponsorship is available for this position.
