Job Description

Our client, a well-capitalized operator based in Fort Worth , is seeking an experienced Senior Landman to play a key role in managing and optimizing their leasehold interests. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process new well proposals/AFEs, ensuring alignment with ownership interests and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze title opinions, ownership reports, and lease schedules to determine working interest and net revenue interests.
  • Set up ownership decks for operated properties to assist Division Order Analysts.
  • Negotiate, draft, and interpret land-related oil and gas contracts, including JOA's, Leases, Assignments, Joint Development, DPU, Production Sharing, and Farmout agreements.
  • Track and evaluate leasehold status, ensuring compliance with lease terms while identifying and managing potential expirations.
  • Supervise and coordinate external brokers and title attorneys for title curative, leasing initiatives, and due diligence efforts.
  • Manage the acquisition, maintenance, and preparation of properties for drilling and production.
  • Act as the company's representative with external stakeholders, including mineral owners, landowners, and working interest partners.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, geoscience, and finance teams to execute company goals.
  • Support acquisitions and divestitures, including negotiating, reviewing, and preparing agreements (e.g., JOA's, Farmouts, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in land and title management within upstream oil & gas.
  • Permian Basin experience preferred or other US onshore plays
  • Deep knowledge of contracts, title, leasehold management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
