Responsibilities

As a Cafeteria Assistant at IGT Reno’s Triple Play Café, you’ll be part of the team that keeps employees and guests fueled throughout the day. Whether you’re preparing fresh meals, handling transactions, or keeping the café stocked and organized, your role is all about delivering great service and maintaining a welcoming environment. This position is hands-on, with responsibilities ranging from food prep and meal service to inventory management and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Take and prepare customer orders following standardized recipes.
• Process transactions and maintain the Point of Sale (POS) system and receipts.
• Assist with daily food preparation, including baking, slicing, prepping, and cooking.
• Help with breakfast and lunch setup.
• Support catered functions, including setup and service.
• Monitor and replenish coffee and soda stations in the cafeteria.
• Maintain stock levels of food, beverages, and paper supplies.
• Maintain inventory records and report stock shortages.
• Keep café areas clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Lift and transport supplies or food items up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in food service, cafeteria, or restaurant settings.
• Proven customer service skills with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Strong communication abilities to interact with customers and team members.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work flexible hours as required.
