About AIQ Asset Management
AIQ has assembled a highly experienced team of investment professionals purposely selected to leverage the enormous power of artificial intelligence to scale human intellect in the pursuit of better financial outcomes for our clients. We are currently growing within the independent wealth management channel where we are a disruptive force. We offer institutional quality portfolios with advanced risk-management overlays geared to an individual client’s financial situation and risk-tolerance.
As a small and growing firm, every team member’s role is dynamic and should be expected to evolve over time. We are looking for talented and ambitious individuals that fit in with our culture and are willing to tackle unexpected challenges, continuously adapting as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Position Overview:
The Trading Associate's primary responsibility is assisting in the maintenance and trading of client accounts within the firm’s portfolio management system through multiple custodians. This includes executing advisors’ ad-hoc requests to raise or invest cash in individual client accounts as well as carrying out trading instructions received from the portfolio management team across potentially thousands of accounts. Given we are a small and growing team, the candidate should expect to assist in other areas of the business such as producing marketing materials, updating internal documents, and assisting with operational tasks.
Trade Setup: Collaborate with the investment team to implement trades spanning various security types such as stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, equity options, and structured products.
Execution: Prepare and execute trades efficiently across multiple custodians using a range of applications, ensuring best practices and following compliance procedures.
Optimization: Continuously improve internal processes, reducing latency in the execution workflow and reducing operational risks.
Maintenance: Maintain and refine our trading systems, internal processes, electronic files, and reporting.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to address any trading-related inquiries or clarifications.
The right candidate has a desire to get in the weeds of our existing technology and processes, develop an expertise in industry portfolio reporting and trading technology, and leverage their intense attention to detail to execute trades consistently and accurately on a daily basis.
This is not a discretionary trading role. The goal of the Trading Associate is to complete the orders in a timely manner with the least amount of slippage between the decision point and the execution price. The trader will not determine what is bought or sold nor will they have discretion in the timing of the trades.
